Child Care
Offered during the 9:30 Mass on Sundays in the St. Clare Room of the Memorial Center. Children are ages one year and up to two years, eleven months by December 1st.
Preschool to Kindergarten
Faith Formation
All classes held in St. James School. Classes for 3-year-olds (by Dec. 1, 2006), 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds/kindergartners meet during the 9:30 Sunday morning Mass. All preschool/kindergarten classes share in weekly group singing and Bible story time.
Elementary School Children
Liturgy of the Word
All parish children in grades 1 through 6 are invited to a special Liturgy of the Word for children held during 9:30 Mass each Sunday. The children process from Mass with the leaders after the opening prayer. In the Memorial Center, they share in an age-appropriate version of the Sunday readings. At the offertory procession, they return to be with their families. No registration is necessary. Adults are always needed to teach or assist. (Coordinator: Linda O'Hara)
Faith Formation
All classes are held in St. James School. Classes for first through sixth graders meet on Sunday mornings 9:00 a.m. (2nd Grade), 9:30 (Pre-School through Grade 1), 10:30 (Grades 3-8), and 4:00 p.m. Monday afternoons (Grades 1-6). (Coordinator: MariAnne Edwards, Linda O'Hara, Ronnie Nosek)
Junior High
Faith Formation Study Groups
Seventh and eighth grade students meet in small faith sharing groups with a catechist. Students can choose a Sunday morning group (after the 9:30 Mass) or a Monday evening group (7:00 - 8:00 p.m.). Study focuses on Jesus, being Catholic, the New Testament and moral decision-making. Some sessions are scheduled for community building/social purposes. (Coordinator: Ronnie Nosek)
Senior High
Confirmation Study Groups
This is a two year program addressing topics on the Creed, Christian Morality, Liturgy and Worship, Sacraments, and Christian Prayer. The students are also responsible for service hours within the parish and the larger community. They normally begin at 9th grade and are confirmed, if they desire, in the spring of the 10th grade. However, they can begin level 1 in 10th or 11th grade also.(7:00 - 8:00 p.m.) (Coordinator: Linda O'Hara)
